If the appointment of an existing ID is not renewed by the EGM before 31st march 2015 whether he is ceased from post of Director itself on 01.04.2015 or he will continue as non executive director and only his Independent Directorship ceased.

In my opinion the confirmation of Independent director shall be done in the first general meeting held after its appointment. This general meeting can also take place after 1st april 2015
