As per new Companies Act is it mandatory to give an appointment letter stating the terms and conditions of appointment viz.remuneration and facilities offered to him/her?

Section 149- Company to have Board of directors.

Law is silent in case of appointment letter of Director (other than independent Director) but in case of appointment of Independent Director, it is mandatory to give duly approved appointment letter in pursuance to Schedule IV part IV setting out the terms and condition of Appointment.
