In how many companies a person can be appointed as Independent Directors? Is there any such limit other than limit for Directorships? Can a Independent Director of Holding Company be also the Independent Director of Subscriber?

Listed agreement prescribes the limit u/cl 49(II) (B) (2) and it says that a person shall not serve as an independent director in more than 7 listed companies. Further, he can become ID of Subsidiary provided he is qualified u/s 149(6) of the Act
