The Act states that small companies can hold only 2 meetings in a year by way of 1 meeting in each half year with a gap of not less than 90 days. Is this provision restrictive in nautre? I mean to ask if the provision is meant to restrict the no of board meetings by small companies?

The minimum requirement of 2 meetings in each half year is mandatory requirement. Adding a query to the above, if the mandatory minimum gap is to be 90 days then the Board need to wait for next 90 days, what can be done if there is a need of a Board meeting within 90 days.
